Off to a flying start at Sebring Internatinal

Will got off to a promising start to the season in Porsche Carrera Cup North America at Sebring International Raceway. Despite only having a few days at the track to get to grips with the new track and ABS which he has not ran in the Porsche 992 Cup Car before, Will had some great practice while also starting to gel with his new team for 2023 JDX Racing.

He made a good effort in qualifying to start the weekend off by getting himself up the sharp end of the field and qualifying in P3. Will stated 'I am very pleased with mine and the teams performance in qualifying in the first round of the championship, I came here to be up the sharp end and challenge for the championship, I feel like this is a great start to prove that.'

For race one, Will set off from a rolling start in third and managed to make his way up to second at the start of the race however, dropped back to third after making a small mistake which cost him the place but overall a strong race with great pace while coming away with a podium.

Race 2 was a learning curve too, from starting in fourth Will got caught up fighting in the pack which held him up from getting further up the grid than P4 at the end of the race however, pace was improving and he was happy with how the weekend rounded up. Will commented 'This first weekend has been a huge learning curve for myself and for the team. Its been tough but the team and I have worked very hard together to get the car where it needs to be and get me up to speed with the track and differences in the car to what I'm used to like ABS. Overall, really happy to come away with strong points and a podium. Big thank you to everyone who has support me in getting this year underway, I'm sure the only way is up from here.'
